STAND 5.G.55
The INDUSTRIE 2020 Platform hosted by Symop (The French Manufacturing Technologies Association) and Cetim (Technical Center for Mecahnical Engineering) will bring together, for the first time, displays resulting from collaborative work carried out by Armines, Arts, Ensam and Enise under the combined aegis of Instituts Carnot and the Consortium Intercut, with the CTDEC as actor.
Visitors will be given initial previews of a simulation module of mechanical assembly, (in particular of riveting) designed to input directly injectable data into standard calculation and dimensioning software.
High-performance 5-axis machining will also be on display with demonstrations on real components from the MCE5 variable compression ratio engine project.
Following presentation of an experimental version at the INDUSTRIE Lyon 2009 exhibition, INDUSTRIE Paris 2010 will feature a demonstration of an industrial configuration of high-speed vibratory drilling on a machining centre, made available by the manufacturers Huron. Noted for its performance gains, this technological development is also environmentally advantageous because it requires no lubrication.
The process is currently being industrialised as part of a multi-partner project approved by the Viameca and Arve Industries centres.
Note that the project’s vibratory piercing head, designed for deep drilling (Enise/Cetim) was developed by the 3S laboratory at the University of Grenoble (France) and LTDS (the laboratory of tribology and system dynamics) at Enise (The Saint Etienne National School of Engineering). The head employs the low-frequency vibratory piercing technique. Using an axial vibration movement whose range is greater than its forward motion, the drill leaps away from the material, thus ensuring swarf breaking. The removal of swarf can then be carried out naturally (without pecking or lubrification), allowing holes of greater depth to be bored.

The Nuclear Energy Village (Le village de l'energie Nucléaire) in partnership with the Bourgogne Nuclear Cluster (Pôle Nucléaire Bourgogne - PNB) |
![]() |
Â
A globally-oriented competitiveness cluster
At the Nuclear Village you will find companies operating in the sector, research centres and training organizations, concentrating the whole chain of design, manufacturing, inspection and maintenance of key components for nuclear reactors.
The Nuclear Energy Village illustrates the credibility and coherence of this industrial sector, which is poised to tackle industrial energy challenges.
It is designed to provide an opportunity for business meetings, a chance to develop increasingly vital partnerships to respond to future challenges as well as to be a focal point providing information to all players in the sector.
It is made up of corporate stands, as well as a vast information area and a dedicated conference room.
The PNB’s role:
- "To be the globally-oriented European benchmark for nuclear equipment and training."
The BOURGOGNE NUCLEAR CLUSTER was founded to assist members in tackling three major challenges:
Â
-
- To consolidate the industrial integration of the sector – which is unique in the world – to speed up construction of power stations with higher technical specifications by developing innovation and research around several strategic areas of focus
Â
-
- To attract and train a new generation of operators, technicians and engineers to work in the nuclear industry.
Â
-
- To promote the expertise of the BOURGOGNE NUCLEAR CLUSTER’s members and increase its place on the global market for nuclear components and related services.      Â

INTERNATIONAL NUCLEAR ACADEMY
The International Nuclear Academy is the executive education institute dedicated to train and to qualify engineers and project managers on nuclear engineering. The institute has been initiated by the French nuclear cluster (Burgundy Nuclear Partnership). The Academy is committed to enhance international scientific and technological education and leadership in a nuclear environment that is both safe and secure. Our offer:
Two long-term programs :1/ Nuclear engineering
2/ Management in a nuclear environment; to work in the nuclear sector either as engineer (program 1) or as project manager (program 2)
Short term programs for decision makers and new comers : bespoke training sessions to provide a comprehensive insight into nuclear manufacturing and materials know-how by reviewing the whole nuclear sector from manufacturing to building and operating.
Symposiums on nuclear engineering to sharing experience and information on the latest scientific and technological innovations. We aim to provide the nuclear market with world-class top executives.
